upcoming bday haul - MAC & Ben Nye

So my boyfriend will be going to the States next month and will bring back some bday goodies that I'll be getting myself and that he'll be getting me. :)
So, I won't actually be receiving any products until end of March.

• Planned MAC haul:
Brushes:
180 - great for liquid foundation - Kim Kardashian's favorite brush
188 - duo fiber brush for mineral and non mineral blush alike
217 - great blending brush
239 - great shader brush
Studio Sculpt SPF15 Foundation in NC30 - I heard that the foundation is running slightly lighter than the SFF, so since I am somewhere between NC25 and NC30 in SFF I thought that NC30 will be just perfect for me. This is a new gel-based MAC foundation and it's supposed to be a great lightweight foundation that provides Medium to buildable coverage. I am only using EDMs foundations for now, because they're light and don't break me out. But I am getting slightly sick and tired of all my blushes turning orangy as the day goes on. I assume, this is because of the yellow undertone in my Olive Light - Beige Neutral - Buff Linen custom foundation mix.
I did intend on buying a few eyeshadows as well, but I can't bare spending 50 USD on like 3 eyeshadows. That being said, I think I'll pass on the MAC eyeshadows and blushes. Instead I'll be getting me some:

• Ben Nye:
Ben Nye is a theatrical Make-up company that not only has Stage make-up (think clowns and crazy masks), but also offer a range of "regular" make-up products, that are highly pigmented and well priced because its main use is for actors. They have eyeshadows, blushes, foundations, eyeliners, setting powders and sealers. So, for an eyeshadow you're basically paying half the price that you would be paying for a MAC eyeshadow, but get at least the same quality, better color payoff and smooth application. From what I have heard and seen, it definetely compares to High-End make-up quality for the fraction of the price. And hell, if I can save a buck, why not. Not too hung up on just getting High-End products that deliver too little for the money I spend.

I am planning on getting quite a bit of eyeshadows and blushes. I am really looking forward to this order!!!

So my wishlist looks a little something like this:

I am planning on ordering from: http://www.stagemakeuponline.com/

Once I get my goodies in, I will definetely write an in depth review and post pictures of swatches. Hopefully by then, I will have mastered the art of taking pictures of swatches. ;)

  1. On eyeshadows: I recommend to check out TKB Trading's homepage - their 1,5 USD mica samples are bigger then other companies' full sizes. Granted - they are not eyeshadows but micas and therefore need eyeshadow primer to stick to the skin.

  2. Thanks for the tip.

    what's the website address?
The only problem is, I have a lot of eyeshadows from everyday minerals but I find it too messy to work with loose powders in the mornings, when i am already in a rush. :(
