european drug store haul - Essence, Catrice, P2 & Alverde

Moving to Europe has had its perks! One of the beauty-related ones has been being able to buy some pretty nice inexpensive make-up products. Essence, Catrice, P2 and Alverde are some of the local brands that sell their products for a few Euros.

Several times a month, they also release some limited edition collections - which let's face it, gets people running into the drugstores. For me, this is a whole new make-up world that I get to explore.

Without further ado, this is my drugstore shopping spree over the past few weeks.

My bag - feat. Michael Kors Large Bedford Bowling Satchel

The name of this bag is a mouthful!

My MK bag was the perfect bday present and I am now wearing it every day! Mine is large and fits all the basics, including a thin A4 notepad, wallet, keys, make up, etc. The colour is in tan and is a gorgeous yellowy brown. The leather is smooth and soft.

I love Michael Kors' designs and the quality of his items! If you're looking to invest in a good designer bag, that will not cost an arm and a leg like some other higher end designers, I recommend checking his bags out. It's classic and not too loud and will make for the perfect every day bag!

origins & earth day

Origins is giving out 1 full-size moisturizer in order to help promote recycling! Today and tomorrow (depending on where you are based)!

All you need to do is go to your local origins counter/store and return an empty cosmetics or skincare product. You can then choose between Starting Over and A Perfect World. Visit this link for more information:
http://www.origins.com/cms/special_offers/in_store_trade_in_20120422.tmpl

The products are full size and in special packaging. My fiance and I both picked one of each up. I can't tell you how thrilled I am about this promotion. The empties you hand in will be recycled into new packaging. Perfect! Needless to say, I am pretty stoked about the products as well, since I have been looking for a good light-weight moisturizer for the day. Origins products are vegan, mineral oil and paraben-free.

So ladies and gents, call your local origins counter to find out if they're participating in this promotion.

peaches and rings

With the warmer weather and sunshine we've been getting, I started experimenting with brighter nail colours again. Yesterday I decided to go for a milky peach shade with fine shimmer, that's hardly noticeable. What a perfect shade for spring/summer and definitely more daring than my go-to taupes. It even makes me look more tan. I also stacked some rings on top of each other. Definetely liking the look. What do you think?

Nailpolish: Sing: Oh, Champs-Elysees by Catrice (German drug store brand)
Rings: Bands on ring finger by H & M and my engagement ring; ring on index finger by Claire's

Also, who's on Instagram?

Love,
Maya
