Coffee Walnut may very well be the perfect contour shade. It's a mid-tone brown that slightly leans olive. Compared to swatches of Chanel's Bronze Universal below, you can see that it is more ashy and has no orange to it. When blended out though, it looks like a very natural shadow. There's quite a lot of pigment to the product, but it can also be sheered out.
The formula seems quite solid, but is very soft to the touch. It applies smoothly and dries down to a powder finish. After almost 10 hours, the swatch from this morning has hardly faded.
The shade and consistency of the product make it versatile enough to be used from light to dark skin tones. Coffee Walnut will most likely look most flattering and natural on warmer skin tones ranging from an NC25 - NC42.Cooler skin tones may be able to pull it off, however it would be advisable to first try it in store.
The product comes in 6 shades. You get 5 grams of product for 20 USD/23.50 EUR/17.50 GBP.

Have you checked out any of the Sculpting Creams? What are your thought?

I love warmer colors, this shade in particular seems perfect for the fall. I love it!

It's great quality too!
DeleteI am going to check these out for sure, this shade is definitely too dark for me though!x
ReplyDeleteThe other shades were nice too. They run warmer and are more on the orange side. Def check them out in person!
Deletethank you for the review Maya. I currently use MAC pro sculpting powder in Sculpt and it's a great product. When I finish that one, I should give this a try. I heard that most cool toned ppl had to mix two of the shades to get the idea match, really hope that won't be the case for me :(
ReplyDeleteI love Sculpt as well. You may be able to pull this shade off if you're more neutral than cool-toned. Either way, all of them seem really nice. :)
Deletedoes it act well as a bronzer?
ReplyDeleteI guess it would be too dark for me, maybe i can serach for another colour of this collection!

This shade in particular wouldn't work as a bronzer, I don't think. It kind of reminds me of hoola and seems better suited as a contour. However, the other shades may be better suited to act as a bronzer since they are much warmer. Definitely worth checking it out. :)
DeleteOooh, I love it! Always annoyed by the orange tones in contours and this looks perrrrfect.

DeleteThanks for the review and photos! I've been really curious about these sculpting creams, and this one looks like a fantastic shade. It might be a bit too deep for my NC15-20 skin, though, so I may check out the shade below this.

Yes, it may be too dark for you. But the other shades could work.
DeleteI'm really curious about this product, I like the idea of them but I can't contour at all haha!
ReplyDeletex
It took me time to learn how to contour as well, but it's well worth it. xx
DeleteI'm curious about this product - I don't think I have anything like it in my whole makeup stash! And I'm a huge sucker for cream products, so I'd definitely be keen to check this out one in more detail. Looks like it'd work really well for contouring as it doesn't have much orange in it.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a very natural contour shade, especially for warmer skin tones.
DeleteThis looks great. I would love to try. Great post :)

Thanks!
Deletethis is far too dark for my pastey face haha but I'm definitely going to check the other shades out. <3 mac xx
ReplyDeleteYou totally should. They have some lighter shades too.
DeleteI have to admit, I'm pretty eager to try MAC's pro sculpting cream, but will definitely be opting for a slightly lighter shade, as I'm far too pale for coffee walnut ha xx
ReplyDeleteThese sculpting creams look amazing!!
