I am so not happy with shroom, thought it would make a great highlighter, but i have to say it doesn't do much for me.
I hardly see it, actually all I see is a slight sheen and the colour totally disappears into my skin. It's probably too close to my NC25/30 skin tone to actually show.
Have a look at this picture.
first swatch MAC's Shroom, 2nd is Barry M's Dazzle Dust in NO 27.
I think I will return shroom.
Do you have any recommendation? The colour I am looking for ought to be lighter than shroom...more of an white to off-white colour, with slight sheen or shimmer to it, no frost finish tho.
thanks!!!

SO glad i didnt get that, i have and inglot eyeshadow that is a bit more creamy looking with shimmer which i use a lot as a highlighter but my fave one from MAC is white frost, but that will prob 2 shimmery for you.
ReplyDeleteHmm, maybe I'll check out white frost anyway! Preferably on my skin first.
ReplyDeleteI really dont get what all the hype is about (regarding shroom)...maybe it works better for darker skin tones?
I wish I could get Inglot here, I've heard so many good things about them.
im not happy with shroom either. it doesnt show up, unless i put a million of it :P i'd suggest dazzlelight, crystal avalance or blanc type, blanc type is probably what you are looking for. :)
ReplyDeletethanks, i will check out blanc type! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of Shroom myself. My favorite highlighter is Blanc Type. I've heard great things about Nylon and Dazzlelight too though.
ReplyDeleteNylon and Mylar are my 2 favorite highlighters. Or even vanilla pigment. Shroom isn't my favorite either so I don't know what the hype is either. I don't feel like putting loads of an eyeshadow on for pigmentation yah know? lol
ReplyDeleteIt's a complete waste to pile on so much eye shadow, and even piling it on, I just can't see it. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the suggestions!
I will check out: dazzlelight, crystal avalance, blanc type, nylon and mylar!!

Update: The MA did not exchange shroom. she said it was store policy that they can't exchange used products.
