eotd - greens

This will be part 1 of the greens series. I got a little bored and started experimenting. Needless to say I have been very much into the browns/neutrals lately and it's nice to add a little colour to the eye. :)
The first green eotd look will still be quite neutral.

Excuse the lighting in the pic, I have a hard time getting perfect lighting, that's why the pics look a bit different from one another. :)

Products used:
• Catrice eyeshadow base
• NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean as base in the very outer corner of the lid - to smoke out the look a bit
• Stila dark green (?) eyeshadow on top of black bean and lower lash line [the dark green looks like the one from the Sea Foam duo]
• Everyday Minerals Cypress on the middle of the lid
• MAC Illusionary (from the illusionary/burning ambition mineralize duo) on the inner corner of the lid and the brow bone
• MAC Burning Ambition in the crease
• Maybelline Liquid eyeliner in Black
• L'oreal double extension mascara in black (waterproof)

new stuff

I finally caved in a few days ago and got a MAC Pro Palette (15 pan). I obviously had to put my new refill pans (Shroom and Satin Taupe) in straight away. :)
Yes, it looks like I am building my first MAC palette. :)

I also received MAC's Woodwinked as a gift from my baby's aunt. :) I immediately depotted it (watch Koren's tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o--oPgjo43o ) and put it in the palette too.

Woodwinked looks like a rich brown in the pan, but is more of a golden, coppery brown and much lighter than you'd expect it to be.

Furthermore I got myself an amazingly yummy smelling and moisturizing hand cream with grape extract from a store called Golf. It's a chain here in Israel, that's kinda like H&M and Ikea. Like you have one for clothes and then there's Golf & Co. that also sells houseware stuff (pots, plates, sheets, towels, etc) and creams and such.

A friend of mine also got me some lipstuffies as bday prezzies: One Lip Balm with Vanilla scent...yum! As a sidenote, I love anything with Vanilla, Almonds, Coco and Coconut. I also received two lipglosses by Markwins (http://www.markwins.com/) - the guys that also do Wet'n'Wild and Tropez. One's clear and the other one's a nudish peach colour.

MAC - a rose romance collection

Oh my, have you all seen the promo pics for this collection? I can't wait for it to come out. I will be all over it! Especially the blushes! Possibly the Fix + with Rose, a lipstick and lipglass and maybe the nail lacquer. :D

Mineral foundations

As you all probably know I am a lover of Everyday Minerals ( www.everydayminerals.com ). A huge part of my collection consists of mineral foundations, blushes, concealers and eye shadows. I have been using Everyday Minerals foundations since October last year and I love it. It took me quite a while to find the right shade and that is why I have a variety of different shades. However, I do believe that the ones I'm not using at the moment will be useful during the summer months. It is also good to have a few that match, and some that are lighter and darker so you can mix them according to your current skin tone. I have also been able to help friends with finding the right match, because I have quite a few to choose from.
Most of the formulas that I have are in the intensive formula, although I have a sample in semi matte and one in matte too. I do like coverage, although I don't need it. ;) So, I think next formulas I will be getting will be in matte and semi matte.

I have never been a foundation wearin' kinda gal, simply because most foundations eventually break me out - apart from the fact that I find traditional foundations way too heavy. But with Mineral foundation I have no problems what so ever and I get amazing coverage!

Highly recommend it. You can even order a sample kit for free many a times, until you find the right shade and formula.

Here are my full size foundations all in intensive formula and a starting/finishing dust. My current match is Sweet Almond.

I also have a bunch of sample sizes. The one I really like is Buttered Tan which will hopefully be a match once I have a bit of a tan. (I do use this sometimes tho, I have to admit, to give me a bit more colour.)

[sorry about the picture quality]

The only other Mineral foundation I have tried is by a German based company called Catrice. The coverage isn't all that great, nor does the colour match. I also suspect that this foundation broke me out strangely enough, although the ingredients seem to be the same as EDM.

As for concealers I only have EDM concealers and I am quite happy with them.

Mint cancels out all redness & is great for people with Rosecea
Abbot's Perk me up is a salmon shade that is used to neutralize dark undereye circles
Lavender (Out of Stock at the moment, I believe) can be used to brighten dull yellow skin
Pearl Beige - diffuses light away, can also be used as a highlighter

[sorry about the picture quality]

Hope this helps those of you who have been thinking about ordering from Everyday Minerals.

disappointed with shroom

I am so not happy with shroom, thought it would make a great highlighter, but i have to say it doesn't do much for me.

I hardly see it, actually all I see is a slight sheen and the colour totally disappears into my skin. It's probably too close to my NC25/30 skin tone to actually show.

Have a look at this picture.

first swatch MAC's Shroom, 2nd is Barry M's Dazzle Dust in NO 27.
I think I will return shroom.
Do you have any recommendation? The colour I am looking for ought to be lighter than shroom...more of an white to off-white colour, with slight sheen or shimmer to it, no frost finish tho.
thanks!!!

bday - my trip to mac

Turned 27 today and received a MAC gift card from my lovely friends! So decided to drag my boyfriend to MAC today. Actually he offered and I gladly accepted.
To my surprise the MAC store also sells Pro Products, so I decided to go for the refills instead and leave some money (not much since MAC is more expensive here) on the gift card.

I wanted to get Vanilla and Satin Taupe, but Vanilla was sold out so I got Shroom instead.
I am so glad they have the refill pans, yay.
